Under general direction, with wide latitude for independent judgment and action, is responsible for the electronic control and monitoring systems regulating the electrical/mechanical systems aboard the vessels and terminals of the Staten Island Ferry. All personnel perform related work. Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, with specialization in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Technology or Electronic Technology, and at least four years of satisfactory full-time experience using medium voltage alternating current variable frequency drives and power systems, utilizing Programmable Logic Controller systems or comparable computer-system experience; or Residency Requirement New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
