About the Job

The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Research Professional 5 for the Vinogradov Lab. This is a 75% FTE (30 hours per week) position. This person will be responsible for handling a variety of assigned, complex research projects and applying in-depth subject-matter knowledge. The position will oversee data acquisition, management, preparation, analysis, and interpretation of results.

This position reports to the Research Manager for the Vinogradov Lab, with an indirect reporting relationship to the Principal Investigator for direction and work regarding the scientific aspects of the position.

Job Duties/Responsibilities (100%):
*Oversee active studies for data collection preparation and processes, data quality control monitoring, continuity across projects, and development/maintenance of related databases (REDCap, BrainHQ, MIRAH, etc.).
*Serve as an expert resource to lab members, collaborators, colleagues, and the scientific community in areas of expertise.
*Help to shepherd complex project approvals through regulatory oversight and compliance organizations.
*Instruct and supervise personnel, volunteers, student workers, and undergraduate and graduate students in study procedures and related responsibilities, including holding regular supervisory meetings, as applicable.
*Work with lab personnel and collaborators to coordinate activities and ensure continuity, consistency, collaboration, support, communication, and related efforts are provided to relevant persons and projects.
*Participate in lab activities, including lab meetings, leadership meetings, project-specific meetings, and other related activities.
*Conduct data curation, analyses, and interpretation for previous and current projects in support of presentations, papers, proposals, reports, and other relevant items.
*Oversee that the data management practices, data collection, data entry, and appropriate data storage for associated projects are managed in compliance with institutional and department policies and under strict adherence to the Federal Code of Regulations and GCP Standards.
*Provide manuscript development and management to completion and publication.
*Conduct literature reviews to continually develop or modify methodology and experimental design for current and future projects.
*Assist in preparing research presentations for national and international meetings and present at relevant meetings as applicable.
*Assist in preparing grant proposals and related materials.
*Maintain current training certifications as required for working with human subjects and on federally funded projects.
*Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
*BS/BA degree plus at least six years of relevant experience, or advanced degree plus at least four years of relevant experience.
*At least six years of substantial research and publication productivity.
*Knowledge of principles and practices of research management.
*Experience with managing clinical trials.
*Ability to work with investigators of all experience levels.
*Knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures for clinical research at the University of Minnesota.
*Knowledge of federal regulations governing human subjects and clinical research.
*Skill in interpreting, analyzing, and explaining applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
*Skill in the effective use of computer systems and software.
*Skill in maintaining appropriate records and files.
*Skill in ensuring the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.
*Strong cognitive skills: Analysis, decision-making, strategic thinking, etc.
*Interpersonal skills: Values diversity, manages conflict, engages in negotiation, shows tact and sensitivity as needed.
*Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: Salary range is $112,000 - $127,000/annually, depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75% Appointment (30 hours per week)
