Department Summary Established in 1964, the UCLA Center for Labor Research and Education, Downtown Labor Center, conducts research on issues related to labor and employment. The Labor Center's research, policy and educational initiatives serve to inform a diverse group of stakeholders: workers, community organizers, policy makers, educators, labor leaders, students, and elected officials. Position Summary The UCLA Labor Center is seeking an Associate Director of Development (ADoD) to work with the Labor Center Director of Development, Center Director and staff to support the growing fundraising program, including the Comprehensive Campaign for the UCLA James Lawson Jr. Worker Justice Center and related signature programs. The ADoD must have initiative, self-confidence, mission alignment, and experience working with highly productive and collaborative teams. The Labor Center's fundraising team includes the Director who oversees the fundraising strategy and program, the Associate Director for Foundation Relations who focuses on contracts and grants from institutional donors, and the Associate Director of Development who focuses on individual major gifts, the capital campaign, and development events. The incumbent will manage a portfolio of donors, and proactively aim to increase giving from various supporters. The ADoD will utilize a wide array of prospect research tools to research and analyze data as part of overall identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship efforts for foundation, contract, and individual donor prospects. Under the direction of the Labor Center's Director of Development, and in consultation with the Center Director, ADFR and other leaders at the center, the ADoD will have the opportunity to hone their major gift understanding, fundraising skills and strengthen small but mighty fundraising for a dynamic center with a mission driven focus. The ADoD will also help oversee donor and fundraising related events and special programs. Please note, this is a hybrid position with the main office at the UCLA James Lawson Jr. Worker Justice Center in Pico Union. This is an EA-Related role. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
