We are currently accepting applications for the part-time position of:

iREV Tour Guide

Hourly Rate: $30/hour
Part Time: Seasonal/Year-Round (Non-Benefitted)
Weekends and Holidays Availability Preferred

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Visitors Center Manager, this position is responsible for
providing historically accurate tours of Lexington's history through the "iREV Mixed Reality"
tours.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various

position.

* Create a welcoming atmosphere by being courteous and warm to all visitors;
* Dress in colonial clothing;
* Present historically accurate information as written in provided scripts;
* Prepare and cover tour content within a specific timeframe;
* Respond to historical questions regarding Colonial-Era Lexington and the American
Revolution;
* Assist visitors with technological devices such as MetaQuest headsets and portable
speakers.
* Troubleshoot and resolve MetaQuest headset hardware and software glitches to ensure
seamless, uninterrupted user experiences.
* Prepare, sanitize, and manage VR headsets, controllers, and software platforms
* Guides visitors through 360-degree digital virtual environment which includes visitors
wearing eye-covering virtual reality headsets.

* Perform special projects and other related duties as directed or as the situation dictates;
* Regular attendance is required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervision Scope: None

Supervision Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Visitors Center Manager,
following department rules, regulations and policies; and complete tasks, according to
prescribed time schedules.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

N/A

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training and Experience
* 18 years of age or older;
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed;

Special Requirements: N/A

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience presenting to diverse groups, schools, museums, or community organizations
* Background in history, education, theater, museum studies, tourism, or cultural
programming

Knowledge: Knowledge of Lexington and Boston's Colonial-Era history with a genuine interest
in history and storytelling.

Skills: Strong public speaking and presentation skills; Strong customer service skills. Strong
written and verbal communication skills.

Ability: Ability to clearly and accurately convey information provided in a written script.
Ability to wear historical period clothing in all weather, while walking or standing for long
periods. Ability to respond to questions from the general public which may require critical
thinking. Ability to assist visitors with technological devices such as headsets and portable
speakers who may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable with new technology. Ability to maintain
focus and situational awareness in an outdoor environment within a group of people.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* Work is performed in a seasonal, fast-paced environment. The majority of work is
performed in a moderately noisy work environment.

* Multiple walking tours per shift in weather conditions that may include heat, cold,
wetness and humidity, and are required to walk on uneven surfaces for extended periods
of time.

* Makes frequent contact with visitors and customers from all over the country, vendors,
and local organizations. Contacts are in person and involve an information exchange
dialogue.

Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear; operate objects, tools, or controls; pick up
paper, files, books, and other common office objects. Ability to view computers. Ability to
reach and bend, to stoop, kneel crouch, or crawl and push/pull or may occasionally lift objects
up to 30 pounds. Must be able to communicate. Vision and hearing at or correctable to normal
ranges.
