IT Infrastructure Engineer Position Overview TEKsystems is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer on a contract to hire basis to support ongoing operational workload and upcoming infrastructure initiatives. This role requires a technical engineer with strong hands-on experience across systems, infrastructure, virtualization, security, and cloud technologies. * The engineer will work closely with the Infrastructure Architect and internal IT teams to maintain system stability, reliability, security, and performance across the environment. Core Responsibilities Infrastructure Administration & Support * Manage physical and virtual infrastructure environments * Support servers, storage platforms, networking infrastructure, virtualization technologies, and cloud services * Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, availability, and operational health Troubleshooting & Incident Response * Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, system, and network issues * Support both on-premises and cloud-based environments * Participate in incident response activities and operational support efforts Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery * Assist with disaster recovery planning and testing * Support business continuity initiatives * Participate in recovery and resiliency efforts when required Security Administration * Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls Support administration of: * Firewalls * IDS/IPS solutions * Patch management processes * Security hardening initiatives * Ensure infrastructure systems align with security and compliance requirements * Microsoft & Virtualization Technologies Deploy, maintain, and support: * Windows Server * Active Directory * DNS * DHCP * VMware * Hyper-V * Assist with infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and optimization efforts Collaboration * Partner with the Infrastructure Architect and internal IT teams * Contribute to infrastructure projects, operational improvements, and technology initiatives * Ensure the overall stability, reliability, and performance of infrastructure services Required Experience * 7+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related disciplines * Expert-level infrastructure administration experience Strong technical expertise in: * Active Directory * Windows Server * VMware and/or Hyper-V * Infrastructure Operations * Systems Engineering * Security Controls * Experience supporting cloud technologies and hybrid environments * Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills * Experience working within enterprise infrastructure environments Key Skills * Infrastructure Engineering * Systems Engineering * Active Directory * Windows Server * Security Controls * Cloud Technologies * VMware * Hyper-V * DNS * DHCP * Disaster Recovery * Business Continuity * Incident Response Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anchorage, AK. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $63.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
