Works within a Specialty Care team, in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of the treatment team ensuring continuity of patient care in all settings. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team. Key Position Details: Department: Orthopedic Surgery - primarily hand & wrist FTE: 1.0 Work Shift: Day Shift Length: 8-hour shift 1:1 first assist Approximately 70% clinic/30% OR Weekend Rotation: None Call: No expected call; weekend stipend for rounding as needed Primary practice locations will be Eden Prairie, West Health, Edina West, & Minneapolis. Eden Prairie will be consistent location, at least twice per week. Job Description: Principle Responsibilities Provides clinical care for patients Completes comprehensive patient assessments. Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness. Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician. Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment. Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care. Refers for specialty care when determined. Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear. Job Requirements Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program required. 2 to 5 years' experience post Physician Assistant training strongly preferred. Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire. BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required within 180 Days. Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required. Drug Enforcement Administration upon hire required. Physical Demands Medium Work: Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $126,006 to $144,206 per year The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
