Where you will work
The Lewiston mill is the largest of Clearwater Paper's facilities, producing paperboard and boasting over 700 talented employees. Approximately two hours away from Clearwater Paper's headquarters in Spokane, Washington, the Lewiston paper mill is a key component in Clearwater Paper's business strategy.

Located on the border of Idaho and Washington, Lewiston provides a host of opportunities for those who love the outdoors including fishing, boating, camping, and skiing. What you will do



  • Assist operators in the Chip Bleach Plant and Lurgi areas with daily operational tasks.
  • Perform routine rounds, inspections, and equipment monitoring.
  • Monitor gauges, levels, temperatures, pressures and flows and report abnormalities.
  • Collect process samples and assist with testing and quality checks.
  • Support start-up, shutdown, and cleaning activities.
  • Learn process control systems and operating procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Clean spills and remove debris as needed.
  • Assist with equipment washdowns and routine maintenance preparations.
  • Help prepare equipment for maintenance work.
  • Report mechanical issues, leaks, and equipment deficiencies.
  • Move materials, chemicals, tools, and supplies as required.
  • Assist with chemical unloading, storage, and inventory activities following established procedures.
  • Operate mobile equipment as trained and qualified.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability, flexibility, and accountability.
  • Ability to identify and address housekeeping and equipment issues proactively.


What you will need
To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required).
  • 2+ years of continuous work experience in a manufacturing or production-type environment (required).
  • Previous industrial, manufacturing, mill, or plant experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience operating mobile equipment.
  • Learn required technical skills to operate equipment and programs.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Frequently walk, climb stairs, ladders, and elevated structures.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in hot, cold, wet, dusty, and noisy industrial environments.
  • Work around chemicals, steam systems, pumps, tanks, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
  • Able to wear respiratory protection and other required PPE.
  • Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays. Able to work overtime as needed.

    • Example of a rotating shift
      Day 1: 5:00am - 5:00pm
      Day 2: 5:00am - 5:00pm
      Day 3: 5:00pm - 5:00am
      Day 4: 5:00pm - 5:00am
      4 days off
