What You'll Do

As a Buyer, you'll manage purchasing and planning activities supporting the production and aftermarket service of complex manufacturing equipment, along with MRO purchases for operations and facilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Source and purchase fabricated, machined, commercial, electronic, plastic, rubber, and MRO components.
  • Evaluate supplier performance for quality, delivery, cost, and service.
  • Build strong supplier partnerships while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Create and manage purchase orders using ERP/MRP planning systems.
  • Monitor inventory levels and material availability to support production schedules.
  • Expedite critical orders and communicate shortages or delays with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to resolve supplier quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data, pricing, and supplier information.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Support company goals related to inventory turns, delivery performance, quality, and cost reduction.
Qualifications

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field, or equivalent purchasing experience
  • 1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or buyer experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience purchasing fabricated, machined, or commercial components preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPIM or CPSM certification
  • Experience in Make-to-Stock, Configure-to-Order, or Engineer-to-Order manufacturing
  • Experience sourcing plastic, rubber, electronic, or MRO products
