The Banquet Barback plays an essential role in delivering exceptional event experiences at our beautiful beachfront resort at TradeWinds Resort. This position supports the Banquets team by ensuring bars are fully stocked, organized, and ready for seamless service.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume resort setting, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in being part of the behind-the-scenes effort that brings events to life to create memorable guest experiences!



Responsibilities

    Set up all banquet bars and equipment prior to indoor and outdoor events
  • Request, pick up, verify, and properly store all bar requisitions (liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks, and food items)
  • Stock bar areas with beverages, glassware, iced cambros, condiments, etc
  • Actively support team members by moving with urgency to restock, reset, and respond to operational needs throughout events to maintain service flow
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of all bar products and Assist bartenders with side work before, during, and after events
  • Support banquet food servers as needed
  • Complete all opening and closing duties for bar operations
  • Operate and maintain bar tools and equipment offerings
  • Contribute to a best-in-class guest experience through efficient support and teamwork
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a barback or similar hospitality role preferred
  • Basic knowledge of liquor, bar operations, and service standards
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, lifting (40+ lbs), carrying, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to transport carts, glass racks, and bar supplies
  • Exposure to heat, humidity, noise, and wet conditions
  • Frequent movement between event spaces and buildings
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively with guests and team members by maintaining a positive, professional, and patient demeanor
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs

For Employees Based in Washington:

  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service
  • Paid Sick & Safe Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, with up to 72 hours of unused time carried over from one anniversary year to the next.

For Employees Based in Colorado:

  • 8 paid holidays per year; employees working in the City of Denver receive 64 hours of designated holiday time per calendar year
  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service
  • 6 days or 48 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year, accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

For Employees Based in California:

  • 8 paid holidays per year
  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service, capped at 1.5x annual accrual rate; non-supervisory employees working in the City of Los Angeles accrue up to 22 days of Compensated Time Off, based on length of service capped at 192 hours of combined PST and CTO.
  • Paid Sick Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, unused time is carried over from one anniversary year to the next up to a maximum of 80 hours; employees working in the City of Los Angeles are provided 40 hours of Paid Sick Time annually on their anniversary, unused time is not carried over from one anniversary year to the next.

Please note that certain benefits described above for associates in Washington, Colorado, and California may vary for associates covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement ("CBA"). For such associates, eligibility for and the terms and conditions of benefits are governed by the applicable CBA and any applicable plan documents, and may differ from the benefits described above.
