Merchandiser
Position Summary

The Merchandiser is responsible for servicing assigned retail accounts in a safe, productive, and professional manner. This role ensures products are properly stocked, displayed, rotated, and maintained across both large- and small-format retail locations.

The Merchandiser will also provide sales support by building strong relationships with customers, identifying opportunities to expand product placement, and supporting promotional programs and displays.


Key Responsibilities
Account & Product Management

  • Ensure products are properly stocked, rotated, and maintained according to established product rotation standards.
  • Minimize out-of-code and damaged product through proper inventory management and rotation practices.
  • Ensure equipment and displays are clean, properly maintained, in good working order, and presented according to company standards.
  • Monitor product inventory and identify out-of-stock, damaged, or out-of-code products.
  • Notify the appropriate sales representative of product pickup or exchange needs and opportunities to improve product placement.
  • Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with retail managers and store personnel.


Merchandising & Execution

  • Execute established merchandising processes, standards, and routines across assigned accounts.
  • Maintain required records in compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal regulations, including driver logs, mileage, fuel purchases, training, and other required documentation.
  • Monitor competitor activity, including new product launches, pricing changes, promotions, and displays, and communicate relevant findings to the sales team.
  • Support the growth and visibility of the company's product portfolio within assigned accounts.
  • Assist sales team members with new programs, promotional initiatives, and the execution of large product displays.
  • Identify opportunities to increase product placement and support account growth.


Collaboration & Customer Service

  • Collaborate with sales and merchandising team members to execute programs and achieve account objectives.
  • Share best practices and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Represent the company professionally while working in the field and interacting with customers.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Demonstrate strong professionalism, accountability, focus, and customer service in all interactions.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable personal vehicle available for work purposes, with required minimum insurance coverage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic to strong mathematical skills.
  • Comfortable using smartphones and mobile technology for work-related tasks.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills, particularly when assessing product inventory and merchandising conditions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Fluent in English.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous merchandising experience preferred.
  • Previous retail, sales, customer service, or field-based experience is a plus.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.


Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; and communicate effectively.
  • Frequently walk and sit throughout the workday.
  • Occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Must have close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work around moving mechanical parts and in varying outdoor weather conditions.
  • Work environment may involve moderate noise levels.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position safely and consistently.
