Boston Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join the Division of Pain Medicine in a brand-new role as part of our Interventional Pain team. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside nationally recognized pediatric pain specialists caring for children, adolescents, and young adults undergoing advanced interventional pain procedures. This role will include opportunities for the NP to act as an ambassador for this service, representing the team at quality improvement discussion, regional and national presentations. The Nurse Practitioner will play a key role in coordinating and delivering care for patients undergoing interventional pain procedures, partnering closely with physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary teams across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with interventional pain physicians during procedures performed in the operating room and procedural areas.
  • Perform pre-procedure evaluations, review diagnostic studies, and ensure patients are clinically optimized for intervention.
  • Coordinate care for complex patients undergoing interventional pain procedures, including communication with inpatient teams, surgical services, anesthesia, and referring providers.
  • Evaluate hospitalized patients with complex acute and chronic pain conditions who may benefit from interventional pain procedures.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery, and follow-up care.
  • Participate in post-procedure management and continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical pathway development, and multidisciplinary education.
  • Would consider a 35 or 40-hour position, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-5:00 PM No nights, weekends, holidays. (Salary listed is based on 40 hours)
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Masters Degree in Nursing
Experience:
  • Minimum of one year of RN experience required
  • Experience in pain medicine, anesthesiology, perioperative care, critical care, surgery, or another related pediatric specialty preferred. (Would consider new graduate Nurse Practitioners with clinically relevant RN experience)
  • Experience caring for medically complex children and adolescents preferred.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines and coordinate complex patient care.
Licensure/ Certifications:
  • Current MA Licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
