Overview

The Community Assistant (Part Time) serves as a key ambassador for the student housing community and is responsible for supporting leasing, marketing, resident engagement, and community operations. This role focuses on creating an exceptional resident experience, fostering a positive student living environment, and assisting with occupancy and retention goals through customer service, campus outreach, and community-building initiatives.



Responsibilities

Leasing & Administrative Support

    Maintain regular and reliable onsite attendance.
  • Welcome prospective student residents and their families, conduct community tours, explain lease terms and property amenities, and assist with the leasing process.
  • Assist with leasing activities including lead management, appointment scheduling, prospect follow-up, and lease execution.
  • Complete and process leasing, renewal, move-in, and roommate matching documentation as required.
  • Maintain accurate prospect, resident, and leasing records in property management systems.
  • Participate in lease audits, unit inspections, turn preparation, and move-in/move-out processes.
  • Respond to prospect and resident inquiries in a timely and professional manner, with a goal of responding to all leads within 24 hours.
  • Support occupancy and leasing goals through proactive outreach and resident referrals.

Student Engagement & Resident Experience

  • Develop meaningful relationships with residents and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with planning, promoting, and executing resident events, educational programs, wellness initiatives, and community-building activities.
  • Support resident retention efforts through engagement opportunities, feedback collection, and positive resident interactions.
  • Serve as a resource for residents regarding community policies, procedures, amenities, and campus resources.
  • Assist in mediating roommate concerns and escalating resident issues when appropriate.
  • Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and academically supportive living environment.

Marketing & Campus Outreach

  • Represent the community at campus events, housing fairs, orientation programs, and outreach opportunities.
  • Assist in implementing marketing and social media initiatives designed to attract prospective student residents.
  • Generate leads through tabling events, resident referral programs, and campus partnerships.
  • Maintain knowledge of the local student housing market, nearby communities, and university housing trends.
  • Participate in market surveys and provide feedback on competitive properties and student preferences.

Community Operations

  • Assist in maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the leasing office, model units, amenity spaces, and common areas.
  • Conduct community walks and report maintenance, safety, or housekeeping concerns.
  • Monitor resident satisfaction and assist in ensuring timely service request communication and follow-up.
  • Support move-in day, renewal season, and turn operations during peak leasing periods.
  • Uphold and enforce community policies, parking regulations, and resident conduct standards as directed by management.
  • Promote a positive image of the community and contribute to a culture focused on resident success and engagement.


Qualifications

  • Current college student preferred.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and peak leasing periods as needed.
  • Comfortable speaking with students, parents, and prospective residents.
  • Proficient with social media platforms and campus engagement efforts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced student housing environment.

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.
