Sales Representative - Power Systems

Regular Full-Time

Location: Pompano Beach - Miami Area

Expectations

IPS is seeking a Sales Representative - Power Systems to develop customer relationships and drive profitable growth within an assigned territory. This role will promote IPS power management solutions, including electrical distribution equipment, switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, engineering services, testing, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and field services.

The Sales Representative will identify customer requirements, develop sales strategies, coordinate technical resources, present proposals, and ensure annual sales objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and achieve annual sales, margin, and account-growth objectives within the assigned territory
  • Develop new accounts while strengthening relationships with existing customers
  • Schedule sales calls and meet with customers to understand their power-system needs, reliability goals, and operational challenges
  • Promote IPS power management products and services, including switchgear, breakers, transformers, testing, maintenance, engineering, and field services
  • Identify planned outages, emergency requirements, capital projects, equipment upgrades, and maintenance opportunities
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, estimating, procurement, and field-service teams to develop customer solutions
  • Support preparation of technical and commercial proposals
  • Present proposals and clearly communicate scope, value, pricing, schedule, and service capabilities
  • Consult with management on pricing, specifications, warranties, commercial terms, and service adaptations
  • Develop strategic account and territory plans based on customer needs, market conditions, and sales performance
  • Maintain an active opportunity pipeline and provide accurate forecasts and activity reports
  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and competitive bid situations
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, customer events, and industry meetings
  • Coordinate the handoff of awarded work to operational teams
  • Maintain technical and commercial knowledge through company and industry training
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory as required

Required Competencies

  • Technical aptitude related to electrical power distribution systems
  • Ability to understand customer specifications, equipment requirements, and project scope
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop and present effective customer proposals
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work across sales, engineering, operations, and field-service teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Ability to analyze sales data and take appropriate action
  • Knowledge of competitors and competitive bidding environments
  • Ability to travel and maintain a valid driver's license

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered
  • Three or more years of successful technical or industrial sales experience preferred
  • Experience selling power-system equipment or services preferred
  • Familiarity with switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, electrical testing, power-system studies, maintenance, and field services preferred
  • Experience serving industrial, commercial, utility, data center, or infrastructure customers is a plus
  • Understanding of CRM, ERP, or operating-system processes preferred
