You Are:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Hardware Inventory Technician to support hardware operations across engineering teams, factories, and multiple locations. This role will be responsible for coordinating hardware builds, following up on hardware and shipment status, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring accurate operational data across multiple platforms.

The opportunity:



  • Board Build & Factory Tracking: Direct coordination with factory contacts on PCB/SMT builds, chip allocation, build status, yield tracking, and issue escalation.





  • Hardware Logistics: End-to-end tracking of chips and boards, lab peripherals, etc. across multi-site engineering teams. Ability to learn new tools quickly.





  • Data Entry & Platform Mastery: High-accuracy logging of hardware metadata and maintaining data integrity across multiple platforms.





  • Communication & Reporting: Generate structured daily status reports highlighting build milestones, shipping blockers, and inventory audits for engineering leads. Strong cross-functional communicator skilled in sending concise Daily Status Reports (DSRs) to engineering lead.





  • Coordinate with factory contacts and internal engineering teams to track PCB/SMT builds, chip allocation, build schedules, production status, and yields.





  • Follow up proactively with factories and internal stakeholders on outstanding hardware requests, build activities, shipment status, and delivery timelines.





  • Track the movement of chips, boards, lab peripherals, and other hardware assets across multiple engineering sites.





  • Manage end-to-end shipment tracking, including shipment status, expected delivery dates, delays, and delivery blockers.





  • Escalate shipment delays, missing hardware, build issues, inventory discrepancies, and other operational blockers in a timely manner.





  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date hardware inventory records across multiple locations and engineering teams.





  • Support inventory audits, reconciliation activities, hardware allocation, and tracking of hardware movements.





  • Perform accurate data entry and maintain hardware metadata across multiple platforms and tracking systems.





  • Regularly validate tracking information and follow up on missing or outdated data to ensure data integrity.





  • Prepare and distribute concise Daily Status Reports (DSRs) covering hardware builds, shipments, inventory status, blockers, and key milestones.





  • Provide clear and timely status updates to engineering leads and other stakeholders.





  • Coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, factory, logistics, and operations teams to ensure hardware requirements are completed on schedule.





  • Maintain organized records of hardware requests, shipments, inventory, build status, and operational activities.





  • Quickly learn and adapt to new hardware tracking, inventory, logistics, and reporting tools.





  • Identify potential delays or gaps proactively and ensure appropriate follow-up until closure.





  • Support day-to-day hardware operations and other operational activities as required.

What you need:



  • High School Diploma


  • 2+ Years of experience



  • The ideal candidate will be proactive and persistent in following up on open hardware activities, shipments, inventory movement, and factory deliverables.





  • The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with factory contacts, logistics teams, engineering teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders.



Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: CA

Compensation Range: $45,000 - $68,000

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
