Director of Facilities
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

• Assigns employees to various custodial, maintenance, and cleaning tasks, and sets up work schedules.
• Directs the maintenance and upkeep of school grounds.
• Inspects maintenance and construction work performed by private contractors or custodial and maintenance employees.
• Inspects and supervises the maintenance of boilers and heating systems.
• Inspects and supervises the maintenance of pools.
• Drafts specifications and plans for repairs and alterations to buildings and equipment.
• Collaborates with district architectural and engineering consulting firms as needed.
• Keeps records and makes reports on building maintenance activities.
• Prepares annual tentative budget estimates for custodial and maintenance activities.
• May perform mechanical maintenance activities as necessary.

FULL PERFORMANCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

• Comprehensive knowledge of large-scale building and grounds maintenance practices.
• Skill as a general mechanic and ability to inspect the work of building tradesmen.
• Ability to plan and supervise the work of custodians and cleaners.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Dependability.
• Physical condition equal to the demands of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Four years of experience in building maintenance activities, at least two of which shall have involved responsible supervisory work, and graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.

SALARY:

Starting at $67,500, commensurate with experience.

Salary/Compensation: $67,500 per year
