Position: Faculty Faculty of Digital Technologies
Supervisor: Dean, Faculty of Digital Technologies
Description: Full-time faculty members will dedicate their time to teaching, advising, and mentoring students to help them achieve their educational goals. They will actively engage in professional development through peer-reviewed research and contribute to the campus community throughout the academic year.
Job Responsibilities:
- Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students while also serving as a global lecturer for partner institutions within their area(s) of expertise.
- Adhering to the class syllabus and making necessary modifications to align with department and university standards, ensuring no substantial changes are made without the approval of the relevant Program Chair or Dean.
- Designing and delivering engaging lectures, facilitating in-class discussions, and developing meaningful activities and assignments.
- Grading papers, quizzes, exams, and other course assignments in Canvas in a timely and constructive manner.
- Evaluating students' overall performance based on attendance, class participation, coursework, and examinations.
- Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, research initiatives, and interdisciplinary projects.
- Providing academic advising and mentorship to support student success and goal achievement.
- Staying current with developments and advancements in their field to enhance course content and teaching methodologies.
- Actively participating in professional development opportunities and campus activities as required.
AUPP Fulltime Faculty:
- A clear and effective communicator who provides insightful, value-added feedback and guidance to students.
- Capable of delivering engaging, real-world-based instruction, fostering an interactive and dynamic classroom environment.
- Proficient in technology, utilizing email and various online learning platforms to enhance student engagement and learning.
- Student-centered, dedicated to nurturing students' understanding of learning outcomes and ensuring they can apply course theories to real-world scenarios.
- Passionate about their academic discipline and committed to education as a whole.
- Knowledgeable in curriculum design, pedagogy, and aligning learning outcomes with instructional strategies.
- Skilled in collaborating with colleagues across campus, including interdisciplinary course development and new degree program initiatives.
- Actively participates in campus open houses and relevant program recruitment activities.
- Willingly rotates responsibilities, serving as a faculty advisor for student clubs/organizations, contributing to campus committees, and chaperoning student educational and learning activities.
Skills & Qualifications:
- A Masters or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution, preferably from an American or other Western university.
- Preference will be given to candidates with at least three years of higher-education teaching experience, particularly at an American or American-style university.
- Recent Ph.D. graduates and candidates nearing completion of their Ph.D. are also encouraged to apply.
- Industry certifications in Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Software Development, AI, and/or Data Science are preferred.
- A strong commitment to teaching excellence and fostering student success.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas) and other educational technologies.
