The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for vulnerability management, data loss prevention, identity and access management, vendor due diligence, tier 3 end-user support, and incident response.

Essential functions of the role:

Vulnerability Management



  • Lead the daily operating and forensic activities of our IT Security program, including patch management, vulnerability scanning, threat detection and analysis, and remediation of security events
  • Stay current on emerging security threats and proactively communicate with leadership team
  • Lead project activities and root cause analysis related to our IT Security program


Identity and Access Management



  • Develop and maintain identity and access management solutions/policies for the bank
  • Ensure least-privileged access is maintained where possible; own strategic develop of future identity and access management needs


Data Loss Prevention



  • Develop, review, and test the bank's DLP controls annually. Look for gaps and identify opportunities for improved controls, settings, and processes designed to secure the storage and transmission of confidential data


Vendor Due Diligence



  • Vet out new vendors by conducting due diligence surveys and ensuring required security controls are in place
  • Conduct annual reviews for critical vendors; own security due diligence process, including survey enhancements and documentation of findings in preferred vendor management platform


Tier 3 End User Support



  • Serve as expert level escalation for the security team to perform complex analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of technical security issues for end users
  • Design, recommend, and implement solutions
  • Ensure all phases of resolution are documented including testing, best solutions, and related follow up communication



Other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility of the job


Requirements

  • College Degree or level of education that, together with industry experience, enables the applicant to meet the job requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of the following technologies is required: Deep knowledge of SIEM platforms, malware applications (Windows Defender, Symantec, etc.), demonstrated expertise in threat detection and analysis, Patch management systems, Active Directory
  • Familiarity with the following technologies is preferred: VMware, Hypervisor, Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), Office 365
