Facilities Management (FM) at the University of Virginia has an exciting opportunity for aSenior Electricianwho supports FM's goal of providing consistent, cost effective, and reliable maintenance and service to the University facilities in North Grounds. The North Grounds Zone provides facilities services to The Darden School of Business, UVA School of Law, The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, UVA School of Data Science, UVA Department of Finance, UVA Parking and Transportation, North Grounds Recreation Center, The Miller Center, as well as other properties consisting of 1.8 Million Square Feet distributed through 30 buildings. Our portfolio includes single-family homes, academic buildings, and office buildings. Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of UVA's buildings, infrastructure, and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties. Senior Electricians perform installation, repair, and maintenance trade work on electrical systems and equipment in buildings, including emergency backup systems, alarms, and life-support equipment. Senior Electricians are distinguished by a depth of knowledge and experience. They receive only limited supervision and provide work site guidance to electricians. Responsibilities:

For the position, the selected candidate will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site. Physical Demands: The employee must be able to variously sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, lift, pull, and use both hands-on repetitive tasks (including overhead tasks).
