About This Role

The Maintenance and Repair Technician II position provides an opportunity to apply your general maintenance and repair expertise in theJardine Apartmentscommunity. This is a full-time position with a consistent work schedule and a generous benefits package.

Duties and responsibilities include:



  • Diagnose, service, and maintain plumbing and electrical systems and equipment. Test and maintain fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
  • Independently troubleshoot, maintain, and repair specialized equipment and building systems.
  • Inspect and evaluate fire and life-safety systems to ensure proper operation and identify potential repair needs.
  • Evaluate facilities for pest control needs.
  • Repair and service building hardware and custodial equipment, as well as perform minor furniture repairs and adjustments.
  • Collaborate with departmental staff to maintain and repair facilities and equipment.
  • Provide an exemplary level of customer service to residents, staff, and other members of the university community.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment serviced.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires one year of relevant experience. Various training and/or certification may be required.
  • Valid driver's license.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • High school graduation/GED
  • Journeyman level experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of codes, hazards and safety precautions
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate professionalism and a desire to provide exceptional customer service
  • Ability to effectively interact with others when providing services
