DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role focuses on performing skilled construction, repair, and maintenance work that supports transportation operations. You will work with tools, materials, and structural components to complete projects safely and efficiently. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Bridge Duties: Tie rebar, pour concrete, build forms, and complete waterproofing tasks
- Construction Skills: Measure, cut, place materials, and perform framing and finish carpentry
- Tool Usage: Operate motorized and non-motorized tools including chainsaws, jack hammers, tampers, and mowers
- Safety Practices: Maintain awareness of work areas, report injuries and hazards, and use protective equipment
- Worksite Efficiency: Follow attendance rules, observe work schedules, and support overtime emergency responses
- Environmental Duties: Implement environmental protection requirements and attend designated environmental training
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work hours may vary for winter operations.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,506.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
