Your Job

Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is seeking a contribution motivated Tax Analyst to join the Order to Cash department. In this role, you will provide best-in-class audit support, tax reconciliations, and routine VAT analysis to support our global presence and will be a respectful steward of Koch's compliance standards and risk philosophy. Ideal candidate will have high attention to detail and have some indirect tax experience, strong critical thinking skills, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.

This position is located at KES headquarters in Wichita, KS, and working with a small team. This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.


What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with a large arena of internal customers in the business, finance, controllers, and tax compliance teams.
  • Analyze and communicate anticipated tax results to key stakeholders based on business operations and key drivers (including indirect tax such as US sales and use tax, VAT, GST, etc.)
  • Partner and provide guidance on treatment for complex accounting topics.
  • Perform accounting activities in compliance with financial, regulatory, and corporate accounting policies and guidelines, including but not limited to monthly tax provisions, journal entries, consolidations, and business reports.
  • Identify and drive transformation and waste elimination opportunities that will provide value within the business and tax accounting organizations. Engage respectfully in the challenge process while adhering to necessary compliance regulations and deadlines.
  • Navigate ERP systems and comfortably work with large sets of data and perform valuable data analysis.
  • Exemplify time-management, organizational skills, and the tenets of Koch's Principle Based Management.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in financial accounting, tax accounting, tax compliance, financial reporting, or a related accounting function.
  • Experience and comfortability managing large volumes of data from multiple systems.
  • Experience using advanced tools to perform analysis and develop a point of view.
  • Ability to learn and navigate in a variety of ERP's and software systems to complete job functions.
  • Experience collaborating with all levels of an organization and communicating in various forms (written and verbal).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, logical formulas, lookup functions, conditional calculations, and aggregation functions

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience using SQL, Alteryx, or other data visualization tools and Process Improvement / Process Transformation / Process Implementation experience.
  • Understanding of international, federal, and state income tax concepts including knowledge of indirect taxes such as state sales and use tax, VAT, GST, etc.
  • Experience leveraging generative AI tools to improve productivity, analyze data, automate routine tasks, and support business decision-making.
