The Teller creates positive customer experiences by efficiently processing financial transactions, managing cash and negotiable instruments with accuracy, and maintaining detailed records while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

How you will accomplish this:
  • Receive cash and check deposits, verify amounts, and examine checks for proper endorsement and negotiability
  • Cash checks and disburse funds after verifying customer identity, signatures, account ownership, available balances, and authority to negotiate the item. Ensure all transactions are accurately processed and balanced.
  • Process customer, Universal Banker, and internal transactions through the Bank's core processing system and provide accurate receipts. Maintain cash transaction records and cash count screens in accordance with Bank procedures.
  • Place appropriate holds on deposited funds in accordance with the Bank's Funds Availability Policy and complete Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and other required FinCEN reporting, as necessary
  • Maintain cash drawer limits in accordance with Bank security and dual-control procedures
  • Balance cash drawer, currency, coin, and negotiable items at the end of each day or shift and reconcile totals to system records
  • Issue official checks, money orders, and other negotiable instruments in accordance with Bank procedures
  • Process night depository transactions, ATM deposits, loan payments, incoming and outgoing mail, and other operational transactions
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service while responding to customer inquiries and resolving routine account-related issues
  • Maintain working knowledge of all Teller functions, systems, products, and procedures, and remain current on system enhancements and operational changes
  • Identify customer needs and actively promote, cross-sell, and refer appropriate Bank products and services to deepen customer relationships
  • Adhere to all Bank policies, procedures, operational controls, security measures, and regulatory requirements
  • May be asked to travel to Methuen, MA branch to provide assistance when needed
  • Contribute to branch and bank goals by taking on additional duties and special projects as required
What you will bring to the role:
  • High school diploma and 1-3 years of related banking or cash handling experience
  • General knowledge of banking regulations, products, and services preferred
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and respond to questions from customers and from other departments within the Bank
  • Proficiency using computers
  • Must be accurate and detail-oriented
