This leadership position is responsible for providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and technical leadership for the Tech Ops Large Cabin Mechanical Team. The successful candidate will lead a team of highly skilled technicians and subject matter experts responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continued airworthiness of large-cabin aircraft mechanical and electromechanical systems. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, landing gear, flight controls, hydraulic systems, braking systems, powerplant systems, and water/waste systems. This role drives technical excellence, safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness while ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer expectations. The leader will be responsible for developing team capability, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and serving as a key liaison among Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Customer Support organizations. The position requires the ability to assess complex technical challenges, guide root-cause investigations, facilitate timely corrective actions, and make sound operational decisions in a dynamic environment. Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in aviation maintenance, engineering technology, related curriculum required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 9 years aircraft related maintenance and operations experience to include supervisory/leadership experience. An A&P license, EASA B1/B2 or FlightSafety Master Technician certification and four (4) additional years of related aircraft experience may offset the degree.
Position Purpose:
Primary point of contact for internal and external customers and represents the Gulfstream Product Support network for both technical and non-technical situations. Manage and responsible for all aspects of the Technical Operations Group supervised. Under minimal direction, assists and supervises systems specialists who provide advice and guidance to the company and the customer on installation, service, repair, replacement, modification and maintenance of in-service Gulfstream aircraft and related support equipment. Assists and supervises systems specialists with regards to customer interaction, troubleshooting, and solving the entire spectrum of aircraft systems, support equipment, and operational problems pertaining to our in-service product.
