BID/JOB ANNOUNCEMENT SUPPORT SERVICES COORDINATOR DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND SUPPORT SERVICES Children Services Division Number of Positions: 1 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $75,336/Annually New hires are paid the starting rate. Current employees' pay is determined by their job title and years of service This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Social Sciences, or a directly related field, plus two (2) years of work experience in education or social service. *A valid State of Illinois driver's license is required Should the above criteria not be fulfilled, the following options are acceptable: * Six (6) years of work experience in education or social service OR * Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Education, Social Sciences or a directly related field, plus four (4) years of work experience in education or social service OR * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher in Early Childhood, Education, Social Sciences or a directly related field, plus one (1) year of work experience in education or social service *A valid State of Illinois driver's license is required Selection Criteria This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the interview process will be selected. Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following: * Previous experience monitoring Head Start and ISBE (PFA/PI) programs in the areas of education, disabilities, eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, & attendance (ERSEA), health and safety services, and knowledgeable about the inclusion of children with differing abilities. * Previous experience writing monitoring reports based on data, data analysis and needed follow-up. * Previous experience with state, federal and local regulations that govern ECE programs for compliance and performance. * Proficiency with Microsoft software applications. * Master's degree in early childhood development, social sciences.
