At McLane, we're building the next generation of cloud-native integration capabilities that connect and power critical business systems across the enterprise. We're seeking an Enterprise Architect II to lead the evolution of our integration, orchestration, and API architecture strategy on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This role will serve as a key enterprise architecture leader responsible for defining and advancing the integration architecture runway, enabling secure, scalable, resilient, and observable solutions across ERP, OMS, Commerce, Master Data, and Analytics platforms. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in enterprise integration with the ability to align technology strategy, business objectives, and modernization initiatives across multiple portfolios.

This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

What You'll Do

  • Design and maintain enterprise integration, orchestration, and API architecture strategies supporting business and technology objectives.
  • Define baseline, transition-state, and target-state integration architectures across key enterprise domains.
  • Guide architecture and design decisions for APIs, event-driven solutions, and orchestration workflows.
  • Establish and evolve the enterprise integration architecture runway in alignment with strategic business initiatives.
  • Partner with Product, Program, Security, Architecture, and Engineering teams to align technology roadmaps with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Support portfolio planning, platform modernization efforts, and technology investment decisions.
  • Drive adoption of cloud-native integration and API technologies within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Define standards and best practices for Apigee, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Workflows, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Apache Camel, and event-driven integration patterns.
  • Ensure enterprise integrations are designed for security, scalability, resilience, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Influence solution architecture and system design activities across multiple business functions and technology portfolios.
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into executable architecture roadmaps.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, integration patterns, and industry best practices to support enterprise modernization initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership, architecture governance, mentorship, and guidance across engineering and architecture teams.
  • Support production operations, architecture reviews, issue resolution, and continuous improvement activities.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field required.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Platform Architecture, or Integration Architecture roles.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise integration, orchestration, API management, and event-driven architecture.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing large-scale integration solutions across enterprise platforms.
  • Extensive knowledge of APIs, microservices, event-based integration patterns, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Apigee, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Workflows, Pub/Sub, Dataflow
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise integration platforms connecting ERP Systems, Order Management Systems (OMS), Commerce
  • Platforms, Master Data Management (MDM) Platforms, Product Information Management (PIM/PXM) Platforms, Analytics and Data Platforms
  • Strong understanding of integration observability, monitoring, resiliency, security, and operational best practices.
  • Experience aligning architecture strategies with business roadmaps, modernization initiatives, and portfolio planning efforts.
  • Experience working within Agile, Lean, or SAFe delivery frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, governance processes, and technology standards.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence decision-making across business and technology organizations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
