THE POSITION

The Perkins Coordinator and Technical Assistance Program Lead position with the Division of Data Analysis, Assessment, and Contracts offers the chance to support strong career and technical education (CTE) across Pennsylvania. This role guides schools and educators in improving program quality and student achievement. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides statewide leadership to improve secondary and postsecondary career and technical education programs. It supports administrators and educators by offering guidance, training, and policy interpretation. As a Perkins Coordinator and Technical Assistance Program Lead, you will perform the following duties:

  • CTE Leadership: Guide schools and educators through visits, workshops, and professional development activities
  • Program Review: Analyze CTE practices and recommend actions to improve program quality
  • Policy Guidance: Interpret state and federal Perkins requirements and provide clear recommendations to recipients
  • Training Support: Coordinate and present workshops on Perkins regulations and operational procedures
  • Grant Monitoring: Monitor spending of Perkins funds to ensure proper use aligned with legal requirements
  • Collaboration Efforts: Ensure recipients use stakeholder committees and Workforce Development Board partnerships to complete needs assessments

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Statewide travel required
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office one day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $78,925.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Career and Technical Education Advisor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Five years of professional career and technical education experience including two years in the development and implementation of career and technical education curricula or programs; or
  • An equivalent combination of professional career and technical education experience and training, which includes two years in the development and implementation of career and technical education curricula or programs.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
