Position Summary As a Chemical Support Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical resource for the district, ensuring treatment chemicals and equipment are applied safely, effectively, and cost-efficiently across customer sites. You will collaborate closely with Sales Account Managers to design, implement, and optimize treatment programs within the pulp and paper industry. What You'll Do Conduct routine service visits and testing to ensure safe, effective, and compliant treatment programs. Provide technical support and pre-sales expertise to customers and the sales team throughout the sales process. Maintain accurate service records, update databases, and prepare weekly service reports. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues at customer sites, develop corrective action plans, and communicate findings to customers and Sales Account Managers. Provide technical input for proposals, projects, and customer-facing documentation, while identifying opportunities for business growth within existing accounts. Analyze treatment program performance data and recommend improvements. Perform routine monitoring, maintenance, and inspection of feed equipment. Participate in technical training and professional development activities to expand technical knowledge and skills. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or other technical discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered, including 10+ years of relevant manufacturing or equipment experience. Ability to solve complex and non-routine technical problems. Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of industrial processes and customer operations, or the ability to quickly learn industry-specific applications and technologies. Results-driven mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Must reside within approximately 45 minutes of Lewiston, ID, and be willing to travel throughout Eastern Washington as needed to support customer sites. Experience with laboratory testing, pumps, pipefitting, and electrical systems preferred. Willingness to participate in an on-call weekend rotation, typically up to one weekend per month.
