Description

The Senior Systems Engineer / Lead Engineer serves as the program's primary technical representative and point of contact for engineering matters. The position provides technical leadership across systems and software engineering activities and works closely with the Government's lead engineer in support of Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) planning, integration, testing, and execution. The Lead Engineer provides technical direction to engineering teams, reviews and approves engineering work products, and ensures requirements, architecture, interfaces, and technical activities remain aligned with program objectives.

This position is contingent upon contract award, and employment will begin upon successful award and authorization to proceed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Serve as the primary technical point of contact between the Contractor and Government engineering leadership.

*Provide technical leadership and direction across systems engineering, software engineering, model integration, and test activities.

*Support program increment planning, including technical scope, engineering estimates, dependencies, risks, and execution.

*Represent the Contractor at technical reviews, working groups, design reviews, readiness reviews, and program demonstrations.

*Lead the development and maintenance of system architectures, designs, and interface definitions.

*Develop and maintain system-of-systems architecture models using SysML/UML and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.

*Lead system requirements analysis, decomposition, traceability, and verification coverage.

*Direct and participate in system development activities, with emphasis on requirements analysis, design, model integration, testing, and acceptance.

*Lead integration and troubleshooting of aircraft subsystem models and associated capabilities within the JSE environment.

*Review and approve technical documentation and engineering work products for accuracy and technical completeness.

*Evaluate system stability, interoperability, performance, security, scalability, and other system-level characteristics.

*Identify and communicate technical risks, resource requirements, dependencies, and engineering recommendations to program and Government leadership.

*Mentor and provide technical direction to junior and mid-level engineering staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

*A Master of Science degree, engineering degree, or diploma representing technical education, and at least 8 years of experience in the subject field.

*A Bachelor of Science degree, engineering degree, or diploma representing technical education, and at least 12 years of experience in the subject field.

*Secret clearance required; Top Secret clearance desired. Must be eligible for Top Secret clearance.

*Knowledge of LINUX and Windows operating systems.

*Demonstrated, in-depth familiarity with the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE); direct experience with the Virtual Air Threat Solution (VATS) strongly preferred.

*Solid understanding of Man-In-The-Loop (MITL) simulation systems and their integration, testing, and performance requirements.

*Proficiency in Systems Modeling Language (SysML), ideally version 2.0.

*Familiarity with Cameo or similar Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.

*Technical leadership experience.
