Spiritual Counselor

Part Time Spiritual Counselor l 10 Hours/week l Flexible Schedule l Responsible for leading Wednesday morning worship service

The Spiritual Counselor position is responsible for providing spiritual care, guidance, and emotional support to residents, families, and team members. This position is responsible for assessing spiritual needs, offering pastoral counseling, facilitating worship and spiritual enrichment opportunities, and supporting individuals through illness, transition, grief, and loss. This position is also responsible for collaborating with care teams, families, and community faith resources to promote holistic, person-centered care that honors each individual's beliefs, values, and spiritual journey.

Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $28.00 - $33.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Meets with residents and their families to assess spiritual care needs and introduces spiritual care services as part of their applicable admissions process and timing.

2. Documents spiritual care visits with residents in electronic health record system.

3. Leads spiritually based activities such as Bible studies, prayer groups, hymn sings and services.

4. Provides compassion and sensitivity to the needs of others no matter race, religion or sexual orientation.

5. Provides and/or coordinates pastoral care and spiritual/religious services in accordance with the beliefs of residents, including administration of the sacraments and funeral/memorial services as requested.

6. Conducts and coordinates end-of-life rituals and funeral/memorial services, including dignity walks and bedside services.

7. Develops and maintains relationships with community clergy. Serves as liaison to the resident's community of faith.

Spiritual Counselor Minimum Required Qualifications:

* Demonstrates theological understanding and respect of all faith expressions, beliefs, and values

* License, Ordination and/or Ecclesiastical Endorsement by a recognized religious organization

* 2 years pastoral care or chaplain ministry experience

* Minimum of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education or the ability to complete within two years of hire

* Commitment to personal self-care and spiritual development

* Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations including being able to work irregular hours, attend meetings and special events

* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

* Ability to communicate both effectively in both verbal and written formats

* Able to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (M. Div. or equivalent theological degree).

* Chaplaincy Board Certified

* Experience working with seniors
