Location: Stellantis Chelsea Proving Grounds, Chelsea, MI 48118

Department: 6280 - Instrumentation Support Services

The Instrumentation Development Technician is primarily responsible for the repair, maintenance, and build-up of electronic test instrumentation associated with vehicle testing at the Stellantis Chelsea Proving Grounds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, PLC's/ industrial controls, and demonstrated trouble-shooting skills. Other duties may include general bench work (building cable harnesses, circuit assembly, test boxes), calibrating meters and sensors, network/ PC repair.

Job Duties:



  • Fabrication, assembly/disassembly of various types of electro-mechanical/electronic instruments, motor drives
  • Calibration, repair and testing of various transducers and gauges
  • Use soldering to build various cable/wire harnesses and connectors
  • Electrical wiring/harness/cable building with various connector/wire specifications
  • Use hand tools/bench tools/machine tools to build/test/verify various electronic instruments


Basic Qualifications:



  • A minimum of Associate's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or High School diploma/GED and military equivalent.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, work independently and work as part of a team.
  • Highly customer focused (flexible to provide necessary support when required)
  • Basic computer skills using MS Office.
  • Valid driver's license.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 2 years minimum experience working in the field of electronics
  • Experience trouble-shooting instrumentation, data acquisition, AC/ DC drives, PLC's/ industrial controls in an automotive test lab environment.
