Assembler II (Screw Pack)

dormakaba is seeking a First Shift (6:00AM-2:30PM) Assembler II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Assembler II is responsible for performing assembly and packaging tasks required in the manufacturing process. This position may provide training to lower-level assemblers.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $18/hr. - $23/hr. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). $2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)

• Perform a variety of complex production and assembly processes by following assembly work instructions
• Operate various production assembly machines, and may use hand tools to assemble products
• Use basic test equipment to make routine mechanical measurements, and to replace faulty components and wiring as needed
• Visually inspect parts to quality standards as described in the quality system, communicating any problems which arise to the supervisor/lead person
• Pack finished product as set forth by work instruction, including instructional sheets and any necessary hardware

• High school diploma or equivalent
• SAP experience
• Computer proficiency

• Use hands and fingers for seizing, holding, grasping, turning, etc. and for fine manipulation such as touching, picking, and pinching
• Communicate effectively in English in a manufacturing environment by speaking and listening
• Use close/distance/color/peripheral vision, including using depth perception and adjusting focus
• Remain active throughout shift by standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and lifting/moving items up to 40 pounds

• Previous experience in an assembly/production environment
• Basic understanding of math
• Lean skills and ability to identify process improvements
