Summary: This position develops and delivers accurate marketing campaign populations for retail direct marketing initiatives targeting residential customers, small business customers, and prospects. The role applies to a strong understanding of direct marketing objectives, customer eligibility, and campaign business rules to interpret requirements, build and extract target populations, and format data for execution in partnership with Marketing, Campaign Operations, and Channel Execution teams.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:



  • This role focuses on audience and campaign list development and execution support based on defined business requirements. Pre-campaign analytics, predictive modeling, and post-campaign performance analysis are generally outside the scope of the position.
  • Interpret campaign objectives, eligibility criteria, customer segmentation, and channel requirements to develop accurate target populations across multiple marketing channels.
  • Ability to manage multiple campaign development projects simultaneously, each at different stages of the campaign lifecycle, while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Utilize SAS as the primary development tool to create, maintain, and execute campaign population processes while supporting ongoing business and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Segment Marketing to understand and document campaign list requirements, and coordinate with Channel Marketing to deliver campaign populations and resolve issues during delivery and execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Segment Marketing and Channel Marketing on campaign population development and delivery.
  • Lead quality assurance for campaign development work by validating that outputs align with documented business rules and campaign requirements.
  • Establish coding and development standards that promote consistency, accuracy, and repeatability across campaigns.
  • Provide campaign population insights and progress updates during regularly scheduled campaign meetings.
  • Coordinate data exchanges with Marketing Analytics to support campaign list development and related business needs.
  • Use campaign list development findings to provide relevant audience and population insights to Segment Marketing.
  • Demonstrate a dependable, diligent, and accountable approach to work.


Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a quantitative field from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.

Experience:



  • Analyst I


  • Minimum of four years of experience in direct marketing or marketing analysis, with strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Experience using SAS software and working in a UNIX environment required.


Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Thorough understanding of direct marketing, campaign management, customer segmentation, and targeted audience development concepts.
  • Ability to interpret campaign objectives and translate business requirements, eligibility criteria, and customer rules into accurate campaign populations.
  • Strong business judgment and attention to detail when evaluating campaign requirements, data conditions, and downstream execution impacts.
  • Advanced SAS, SQL, and database skills.
  • Strong proficiency in a UNIX environment.
  • Strong data manipulation, preparation, validation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven record of accurate, on-time delivery of campaign and project deliverables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clarify requirements and explain campaign population logic to business partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Copilot.
  • Competent with Databricks, Genie and campaign management tools.
  • Experience with project management tools, such as Microsoft Project.
  • High degree of ethics, sound business judgment, and ability to operate in accordance with NRG's core values.


Working Conditions:



  • Normal office environment.
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise.


This role will be onsite in Houston, TX. Our client MAY consider fully remote canddiates, but local candiates are highly preferrred.
