About This Role
Housing & Dining Services is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused individual to support the purchasing, inventory, warehouse, and material distribution needs of Facilities Management. This position plays a key role in ensuring that maintenance and housekeeping teams have the parts, materials, tools, equipment, and supplies they need-when they need them. The position helps oversee daily storeroom and warehouse operations while managing an inventory of varied items. Key Responsibilities: * Receive, inspect, and verify materials for quality, quantity, and compliance with purchase orders. * Issue and deliver parts, materials, tools, and supplies to Facilities Management staff. * Maintain appropriate inventory levels using usage history, reorder data, and projected needs. * Research and source replacement parts for obsolete or specialized equipment by working with manufacturers, distributors, vendors, and sales representatives. * Place orders for stock items and identify new products that may benefit future maintenance operations. * Prepare purchase requisitions and related documentation in accordance with State of Kansas purchasing requirements. * Generate receiving reports, reorder forms, sales reports, inventory adjustments, and other records using inventory control systems. * Collaborate with trades supervisors and Facilities Management staff to anticipate material needs for planned projects. * Perform procurement-related duties in the absence of the supervisor. * Provide guidance to Facilities Management staff on Microix, Concur, purchasing procedures, and applicable policies and regulations.

Worksite Description
This position is On-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires one year of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school graduation/GED
- Three years experience in storekeeping
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of materials, equipment and nomenclature used in the building trades.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Familiarity with inventory control software.
- Ability to accurately transfer/record numerical and alphabetical figures.
- Ability to make basic math computations.
- Ability to communicate verbally in an understandable and tactful manner.
- Ability to compare information and recognize discrepancies.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to operate forklift.
