Title: Project Engineering Intern

Location: Pascagoula, MS

Position Overview: Bollinger is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineering Intern for a full-time, on-site summer internship at our Pascagoula facility. This opportunity is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Naval Architecture who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional, real-world environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to Project Engineers to visit new vessels under construction, in order to get an appreciation for the vessels, the skill set needed for project engineering, the construction process and assist with light duty project engineering work. This is a great opportunity to visit new vessels under construction.
  • Working directly alongside Project Engineers supporting program requirements with tracking and reporting for engineering scope, schedule, and budget.
  • This role will require outside of office visits to the vessels.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required and worn occasionally in this role.

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently a Junior or Senior enrolled in an undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in project engineering, allowing students to develop industry-relevant skills, expand their professional network, and contribute meaningfully to Bollinger's Engineering department.
