SSFM International is accepting applications for experienced Environmental Planners to support our Planning & Environmental team in Honolulu. This open recruitment identifies qualified professionals for future or ongoing opportunities as our project needs continue to grow.
Position Overview
Environmental Planners at SSFM ensure that development projects comply with environmental regulations while supporting responsible, communityfocused development. This role contributes directly to minimizing environmental impacts and improving project outcomes across Hawaii.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations
* Support environmental permitting processes and project workflows
* Prepare clear and comprehensive environmental documents and technical reports
* Review site plans and conduct field visits to assess environmental conditions
* Analyze technical information and communicate findings effectively to project teams
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, or related field
* Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental planning or a similar role
* NEPA and HRS 343 experience preferred
* Strong understanding of environmental regulations and policies
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
* Strong analytical abilities with a high attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
