Georgia-Pacific is seeking an OT Architect to shape secure, resilient, and scalable technology solutions for manufacturing environments. This role connects process control, engineering, cybersecurity, and information technology teams to define architecture direction, guide solution decisions, and improve the reliability and security of operational technology across the enterprise. Our TeamThe Infrastructure Architecture team partners with Georgia-Pacific businesses and technology capabilities to develop standards, patterns, and roadmaps that enable long-term value. The team works across manufacturing, engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to align OT solutions with business outcomes and enterprise technology strategies. What You Will Do* Develop and maintain IT/OT architecture standards, reference designs, and reusable patterns aligned with security, information technology, and operational technology frameworks * Lead cross-organizational architecture efforts that bring together manufacturing, process control, engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application stakeholders * Guide the design and implementation of current and future OT solutions, including DCS, PLC, HMI, industrial networking, remote access, edge, IoT, and supporting infrastructure * Assess emerging technologies to identify capability gaps, overlap with existing solutions, integration needs, risks, and opportunities to create value * Translate manufacturing, regulatory, and industry security requirements into actionable architecture decisions, technical standards, and implementation guidance * Advise project and product teams on reliability, segmentation, availability, recovery, replication, virtualization, and secure configuration decisions for manufacturing environments * Promote adoption/consumption of approved patterns and share practical knowledge across architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, and site technology communities * Apply automation and infrastructure-as-code approaches where they improve repeatability, governance, speed, or total cost of ownership Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)* Experience deploying or administering industrial control technologies in manufacturing environments, including PLC, HMI, or DCS platforms * Experience designing or supporting industrial networks and firewalls using the Purdue architecture model or an equivalent industrial segmentation model * Demonstrated experience leading multiple cross-organizational architecture or technology initiatives from problem definition through solution decision and implementation guidance * Experience applying architecture concepts such as high availability, elimination of single points of failure, recovery, data replication, and virtualization to technology designs * Documented experience translating manufacturing, regulatory, or cybersecurity requirements into technical standards, architecture patterns, designs, or implementation actions * Ability to travel up to 25%, including visits to manufacturing sites, and to comply with site-specific safety and personal protective equipment requirements * Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship What Will Put You Ahead* Five or more years of experience deploying or administering industrial control systems, PLC, HMI, or DCS technologies in manufacturing environments * Five or more years of experience with networking, firewalls, and industrial segmentation in manufacturing environments * Two or more years of experience in a technical lead or IT/OT architecture role * Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code technologies such as AWX or Terraform * Experience with cloud, edge, and industrial IoT technologies * Experience with secure vendor or remote access platforms used in manufacturing environments, including NextNine or comparable solutions * Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field
