Abdominal Imaging Radiologist

The UC Davis School of Medicine, Department of Radiology is recruiting for one full-time Abdominal Imaging Radiologist in the Professor of Clinical "X" Series or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series, at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank (commensurate with experience and credentials).

Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is essential for appointment in this series.

Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.

Candidates must possess an M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree. Applicants must be fellowship trained in abdominal imaging or possess equivalent work experience and have a documented interest in research and teaching. Candidates must be licensed or be eligible for full licensure in the State of California, and/or meet eligibility requirements for a CA Special Permit. Candidates must also be board certified in Diagnostic Radiology (or be eligible for the initial certification examination of the American Board of Radiology). The applicant should have a strong interest in working collaboratively in a diverse environment.

Expertise in all aspects of abdominal imaging is strongly suggested, including MR, CT, US, and image-guided procedures, as well as second and third trimester obstetric ultrasound. The expected candidate will work primarily within abdominal imaging. Knowledge in and willingness to interpret exams in other areas of radiology will be highly valued. This position involves participation in patient care, service, education, and research, although less emphasis is placed on research for those in the HSCP series. Particular emphasis will be placed on an individual's interest in trainee education, breadth of knowledge, and flexibility.

The Department of Radiology performs approximately 400,000 examinations per year and has 68 full-time faculty, including 12 Abdominal Imaging Radiologists. The department has state-of-the-art equipment, including new MRI scanners and a brand-new pediatric fluoroscopy suite. It is the country's first adopter of the new ultra-high-resolution Cannon CT scanner. The new Explorer total-body PET/CT scanner offers abundant research opportunities. Our clinical and research work extends across multiple premier facilities, including our Level I Trauma Center, the cutting-edge EXPLORER Molecular Imaging Center, and our new state-of-the-art 48X Complex, Outpatient Surgery Center, opened in 2025. Possess an M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree

Fellowship trained or undergoing training in Abdominal Imaging

Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology

Proficiency in all aspects of Abdominal Imaging including MR, CT, ultrasound and fluoroscopic studies.
