Your Role at Baxter

The Manager, Medical Affairs serves as a clinical, scientific, and operational leader responsible for supporting the development, commercialization, and lifecycle management of medical devices and healthcare solutions. This role combines clinical expertise, Medical Affairs strategy, evidence generation, product support, and operational execution to ensure the organization delivers clinically relevant, evidence-based solutions that improve patient care and healthcare outcomes.

The Manager, Medical Affairs provides medical and device subject matter expertise across product development, clinical evaluation, risk management, evidence generation, medical education, and post-market activities. In addition, this role supports key Medical Affairs operations including project management, budget oversight, vendor management, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

Success in this role requires the ability to translate clinical insights into actionable business and product strategies while effectively managing multiple projects and stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Serve as the clinical and medical device subject matter expert supporting product development, implementation, risk assessment, training, and lifecycle management.
  • Provide clinical guidance and collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Clinical Research, Regulatory, Quality, Marketing, and Commercial organizations.
  • Evaluate clinical evidence, literature, healthcare trends, and customer insights to inform product strategy and identify unmet clinical needs.
  • Support Medical Affairs strategy, evidence generation initiatives, research collaborations, publications, and scientific congress activities.
  • Develop and deliver clinical and scientific education programs for internal teams and customers to support product adoption and best practices.
  • Lead Medical Affairs projects, timelines, governance activities, strategic planning, and operational process improvements.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, vendor relationships, contracts, purchase orders, and financial reporting in partnership with Finance and Procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards while driving cross-functional collaboration, reporting, analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll bring:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical, scientific, healthcare, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or related healthcare industries.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience supporting budgets, contracts, vendors, and operational processes.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require (up to 30-50%).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree (NP, PA, MD/DO, DNP, or equivalent).
  • Active clinical licensure in good standing preferred.
  • Prior Medical Affairs experience in the medical device, diagnostics, digital health, or healthcare technology industry.
  • Experience supporting evidence generation, publications, investigator-sponsored research, and scientific communications.
  • Experience with financial management systems, procurement platforms, and vendor oversight.
  • PMP certification or comparable project management training preferred.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $128,000.00 to $176,000.00 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location.
