Description

Payroll is more than running numbers, it's making sure employees are paid accurately, taxes are handled correctly, retirement contributions land where they should, and everything balances at the end of the day.

CU*Answers is looking for an experienced Payroll & Benefits professional to own weekly payroll processing for multiple company partners and serve as a go-to resource for payroll taxes, 401(k) administration, compliance, and employee questions.

If you know payroll inside and out, enjoy digging into the details, and can explain complicated rules in plain language, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Process and oversee weekly payroll for multiple company partners
  • Manage payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, adjustments, and employee record changes
  • Administer 401(k) contributions, deductions, distributions, and reconciliations
  • Complete payroll-related general ledger entries, reconciliations, and benefit payment processing
  • Partner with HR and Accounting on FMLA adjustments, wage verification, labor tracking, and compliance
  • Handle taxable fringe benefits, company vehicle usage, moving expenses, travel pay, and other specialized payroll situations
  • Support federal and state payroll filings, including Forms 940, 941, W-2, W-3, and state wage and tax reporting
  • Support multi-state payroll requirements, including state income tax withholding registrations
  • Help employees understand payroll, tax, and retirement plan questions in clear, everyday language

What You Bring

  • 3-5 years of direct payroll experience
  • Associate's degree in business, accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, compliance, and payroll reconciliation
  • Working knowledge of 401(k) administration and retirement plan requirements
  • Familiarity with SECURE 2.0 and current payroll-related regulatory requirements
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with payroll and financial data
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, judgment, and confidentiality
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
  • Paylocity experience preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience preferred
Why CU*Answers?

This isn't a payroll role where you simply push a button and move on to the next cycle. You'll become a trusted resource for employees, HR, Accounting, and our company partners while working with everything from weekly payroll and 401(k) administration to multi-state taxes and evolving payroll regulations. If you're looking for a role where your payroll expertise matters, and where you'll have the opportunity to own the details from start to finish, we'd like to meet you.
