Primary Purpose
The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions plans, creates, and implements recruitment strategies designed to attract and successfully enroll prospective students for University of the Pacific's graduate programs. They have a deep understanding of all graduate program details and can advise prospective students on admissions, curriculum, program design, support services, financial aid, program outcomes, and career pathways. In collaboration with faculty and program managers, the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions ensures all digital events are scheduled, managed, and properly tracked in the university's CRM for accurate data analysis and annual planning.

Essential Functions

  • Creates a variety of virtual engagement opportunities for prospective students and individually advises on academic programs with a focus on customer service and applicant success.
  • Holds regular meetings with graduate program staff and faculty to discuss progress on enrollment goals. Advises graduate programs on recruitment and outreach strategy and oversees execution and implementation of robust recruitment strategies to achieve student enrollment targets.
  • Plans and conducts digital events focused on attracting and educating prospective students.
  • Analyzes reports and identifies relevant trends. Provides data and critical insight to the leadership team in understanding and using the data for recruitment, event budgeting, and strategy.
  • Possesses the flexibility and wherewithal to operate several databases at one time. This includes, but is not limited to, Slate, Asana, and Banner. Must be able to navigate these systems to provide a high level of customer service to the public.
  • In partnership with the schools, identifies potential applicant pipelines; develops relationships, and manages outreach efforts to cultivate these pipelines. Travels to offsite locations and hosts recruitment events externally.
  • Assists students with application procedures to ensure a smooth transition into the program, maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
  • Through collaboration with graduate programs, identifies gaps in enrollment communication and takes initiative to develop and execute recruitment communication plans, as needed. Tracks prospective students through the enrollment funnel, engaging them with the University as identified in collaboration with the graduate programs.
  • Identifies new tools and trending strategies for recruiting online and graduate students.
  • Stays current in all pertinent aspects of enrollment management and program advisement.
  • Responds and engages with all inquiries/applicants that come through the Graduate Info email inbox.
  • Works collaboratively with other Graduate Enrollment team members on shared events, calendaring, recruitment strategy, and phone/office/program coverage.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Three (3) years of Professional experience in a higher education setting, preferably in admissions, recruitment, student advising or related student services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.
  • Knowledge of graduate programs in business, engineering, or computer science, including admissions requirements, curriculum, and career pathways; or experience advising prospective students interested in these fields.
  • Experience using CRM systems and online communication tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; interpersonal relationship-building skills and excellent public speaking skills.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to learn and work with technology.
  • Demonstrated skills in data analysis; exceptional organizational skills and strong work ethics.
  • Excellent customer service skills with focus on exceptional follow-through.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced environment, comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining adherence to deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong initiative and self-starter skills and a goal-oriented attitude.
  • Committed team player who feels comfortable in a collaborative work environment.

This is an in-person role, and the successful candidate must be willing to relocate within California, preferably within 25 miles of the Stockton Pacific campus.

Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment. Work performed during normal business hours. Must be available to work some evening and weekend hours. Regional travel is required.

Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
Hiring Range $70,304 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
