Position Overview
Choate's Private Equity Group is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious Business Analyst who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, and working in a dynamic team environment. The Business Analyst supports attorneys on sophisticated private equity, M&A, and growth equity transactions while helping to drive innovation in deal execution. Operating at the intersection of private equity, law, business operations, data, and technology, this position works closely with attorneys, clients, and technology professionals to support due diligence, transaction management, knowledge management, workflow improvement, and technology innovation initiatives. This role offers significant exposure to private equity transactions and the opportunity to help shape how technology and AI are transforming legal services.
We are seeking candidates who are available to begin in January 2027.

Key Responsibilities
- Support private equity transactions throughout the transaction lifecycle, from diligence through signing and closing.
- Support special projects related to process improvement, knowledge sharing, and technology innovation within the Private Equity Group.
- Assist in organizing, coordinating, and tracking legal due diligence reviews.
- Prepare transaction summaries, status reports, diligence findings, and closing materials.
- Manage transaction workflows, timelines, and deal-related information across multiple active matters.
- Leverage AI and data-driven tools to analyze documents, identify risks, generate transaction summaries, and improve the speed and quality of legal work product.
- Collaborate with attorneys and technology professionals to design and deploy AI-enabled workflows and automation initiatives.
- Develop, organize, and maintain knowledge management resources.
- Assist with evaluating emerging technologies, data resources, and operational approaches that support transaction execution and client service.
- Capture insights and lessons learned from transactions to improve future deal execution.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, with a demonstrated record of academic achievement.
- Open to candidates with 0-3 years of experience, including relevant internship experience. Experience through academic, leadership, internship, or professional roles in finance, consulting, business analysis, legal services, technology, or data analytics is a plus, but not required.
- Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong interest in private equity, M&A, corporate transactions, business strategy, and legal services.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented professional environment.
- Intellectual curiosity, initiative, and eagerness to learn how businesses, transactions, and professional service organizations operate.
- Enthusiasm for learning and leveraging technology, data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and business productivity tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range for this specific position at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to qualifications and experience, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity. $70,000 - $100,000
