The Director of Student Life & Leadership is a dynamic campus leader who brings people, programs, and opportunities together to create a thriving student experience. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Life, Leadership, & Athletics, this role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for student affairs, campus life, and, where applicable, residence hall operations. With a student-first mindset, the Director champions belonging, engagement, well-being, and career readiness while creating a safe, inclusive, and vibrant campus environment where students can thrive and stay connected long after graduation. The Director leads campus student development, engagement, and support; oversees student conduct, crisis response, and campus care; supervises student affairs staff and residence hall operations where applicable; manages budgets and resources; and leads student life programs, traditions, orientation, and commencement. The Director also supports student wellness and basic needs, serves as Deputy Title IX Coordinator, strengthens engagement among online and commuter students, uses data to assess impact, and maintains a visible, approachable presence across campus. A successful candidate for the Director of Student Life and Leadership position will have a master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Leadership, Counseling, Education, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education student affairs administration. Candidates should demonstrate experience in student conduct administration, crisis intervention, staff supervision, and student event planning and execution. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in higher education, student affairs, leadership, or a related field is preferred. The successful candidate will believe in and support the student first philosophy while contributing to the overall success of Baker College, while acting as a positive role model and brand ambassador on and off campus.
