Position Title: Machinist
Wage: $60,000.00-$75,000.00/year Shift: 2nd Hours: 2:30pm-11:00pm We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate Vertical Boring Mills while producing large, precision-machined components. This position requires strong CNC setup skills, blueprint reading, precision measurement, and the ability to work within tight tolerances. Don't miss this direct hire opportunity in Waukesha, WI. Machinist Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Set up, adjust, and operate various sizes of Vertical Boring Mills (VBMs) - Perform turning, boring, facing, grooving, milling, and drilling operations - Machine parts to tight tolerances according to print specifications - Inspect your own work using precision measuring instruments and document results - Work from routings, process sheets, drawings, and blueprints - Determine appropriate speeds, feeds, tooling, and machining sequences - Prove out CNC programs and make minor program edits as needed - Position, align, and secure workpieces, including the use of locating fixtures - Select and prepare tooling based on materials and machining requirements - Safely work with large parts and overhead cranes when required - Participate in team initiatives and continuous improvement activities Machinist Requirements: - 2+ years of machining experience, including CNC machine setup - Experience with CNC machine controls; Fanuc preferred - Strong shop math and blueprint reading skills - Ability to troubleshoot and solve machining problems - Experience working to tight tolerances and using precision measuring instruments - Large turning machine or Vertical Boring Mill experience preferred - Short-run or job shop machining experience preferred - Large-part machining and crane experience is a plus - Ability to lift up to 38 pounds - Preferred experience: CNC setup and operation, Vertical Boring Mills / Vertical Turning Lathes, Fanuc controls, Large-part machining, Tight-tolerance machining, Short-run/job shop environments, Overhead crane operation QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
