THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a motivated Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections who is ready to take on a leadership role in expanding and guiding psychological services. This opportunity allows you to influence staff development, strengthen treatment planning, and shape key mental health programs at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position manages the psychological services program for the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill and supports clinical, administrative, and evaluation activities. The work involves supervising staff, directing treatment planning, and guiding program decisions. As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections, you will perform the following duties:

  • Staff Supervision: Lead psychological staff, oversee evaluations, administer diagnostic tools, and direct counseling, psychotherapeutic, and crisis intervention procedures
  • Program Development: Guide program planning, integrate new policies, manage counseling programs, and participate in research projects
  • Committee Leadership: Chair the Initial Reception Committee, Suicide Clinical Review Team, Psychiatric Review Team, Mental Health Services Review Committee, and the Critical Incident Stress Management Team
  • Clinical Standards: Set clinical competencies, determine testing reliability and validity, and provide updates for medical stability ratings
  • Case Review: Evaluate test interpretations, prepare diagnostic and progress reports, and manage behavior and mental health case planning
  • Consultation Services: Advise specialized units, train staff, collaborate with classification and unit staff, and review inmate adjustment and treatment plans
  • Legal and Accreditation: Provide expert testimony in legal matters and ensure compliance with accreditation standards for psychological services

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
