Overview

We are seeking aProject Hydrogeologist to join our Engineering, Construction, and Remediation (ECR) team based in Greenville, SC. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and self-driven professional with 5-7 years of environmental consulting experience and a strong technical background in hydrogeology, site investigation, remediation, and environmental compliance.

This individual will play a key role in planning and executing environmental projects, conducting technical analyses, leading field investigations, and supporting clients through all phases of project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Senior Project Managers to develop project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and execution strategies for compliance, monitoring, investigation, and remediation initiatives.
  • Apply geologic and hydrogeologic principles to support project design, technical analysis, field investigations, data interpretation, and remediation activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, project documentation, work plans, and health and safety plans, including Remedial Investigation (RI) Work Plans and Reports, Interim Remedial Measure (IRM) Work Plans and Reports, and Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Reports.
  • Plan, coordinate, and leadfield activities for site characterization and remediation projects, including environmental media (i.e., soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, soil vapor, etc.) sampling, logging soil/bedrock cores, indoor air and sub-slab vapor sampling, drilling oversight (boring advancement and well installation), and installation/operation/maintenance of remedial systems.
  • Evaluate and interprete field data including soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, and indoor air/soil vapor data assessments; assisting with writing previously mentioned technical reports; and preparing miscellaneous project documents.
  • Support the planning, implementation, and oversight of remediation technologies, including soil vapor extraction, groundwater amendment injection, and in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO).
  • Conduct hydrogeological analyses, site characterization, and develop conceptual site models incorporating site geology and hydrogeology.
  • Travel periodically, including to remote project locations, as required.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining quality, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing project priorities.
  • Independently manage workload and project responsibilities while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Mentor and support junior staff as needed, providing technical guidance and field oversight.
  • Actively pursue professional development opportunities, expand technical expertise, and contribute to business and project growth initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field of study from an accredited university; M.S. or M.A. degree preferred.
  • Geologist-in-Training (GIT/FG) certification with a demonstrated commitment to obtaining Professional Geologist (PG) licensure preferred.
  • 5-7 years of environmental consulting experience supporting site investigation, remediation, and environmental compliance projects.
  • Demonstrated technical experience conducting and preparing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ASTM E1527), Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ASTM E1903), and Remedial Investigation activities.
  • Valid driver's license and current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with annual 8-hour refresher training.
  • Ability and willingness to perform field work and travel throughout the southeastern United States.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and environmental data management and reporting tools.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate environmental data, apply scientific principles, and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Demonstrated quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) experience, including technical review of reports, work plans, and project deliverables.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and project teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities, and meet competing deadlines.
  • Proven ability to supervise and mentor field staff, coordinate field activities, and make technical decisions in support of project objectives.
  • Strong sense of accountability, professionalism, and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
