Clinical Communications Project Manager

Duties:

  • Own the integrated program plan across all workstreams-tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, actions, and changes.
  • Facilitate the Executive Steering Committee-prep, facilitation, decision capture, and follow-up executive update distribution.
  • Execute the full communication plan: weekly IT leadership status, bi-weekly clinical readiness recaps, weekly project team meetings, and program health posts.
  • Run formal change control end-to-end: intake, impact assessment, stakeholder approvals, decision logging, and communication
  • Run bi-weekly IT and Clinical Readiness meetings with nursing leadership and clinical operations partners.
  • Engage unit-level nursing leaders, educators, and super users on deployment readiness-staffing, device allocations, training, and go-live logistics.
  • Coordinate with clinical informatics and Epic teams for workflow validation, training, and go-live readiness.
  • Navigate InfoSec, Compliance, and Regulatory review requirements. Patient data exposure assessments, HIPAA alignment, and lock-screen policy decisions are part of this role.
  • Lead weekly coordination meetings with Zebra Technologies, Connexall, and Epic implementation resources.
  • Hold vendors accountable to deliverables and timelines. Track commitments formally. Escalate when commitments slip

Skills:

Years and Type of Required Experience:

  • 7 or more years of IT project management experience, with at least 4 years in a clinical or healthcare environment.
  • Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Demonstrated experience running multi-workstream, multi-vendor programs in healthcare or large enterprise settings.
  • Direct experience managing clinical communications technology programs. Not optional.
  • Experience managing large-scale clinical device deployments in active patient care environments.
  • Track record managing stakeholder relationships across IT, nursing leadership, clinical informatics, compliance, and executive leadership.
  • Experience navigating healthcare governance: change advisory boards, technical review boards, InfoSec reviews, and HIPAA compliance touchpoints.
  • Working knowledge of clinical communications infrastructure-middleware and alarm routing, nurse call systems, clinical mobile devices, VoIP, and unified communications platforms.
  • Familiarity with MDM platforms (Microsoft Intune preferred) and enterprise wireless infrastructure requirements for clinical devices.
  • Understanding of Epic clinical workflows, specifically how alert and alarm notifications behave within Epic and how they interact with clinical device endpoints.
  • Ability to read and manage technical project plans spanning infrastructure, integration, and clinical application workstreams simultaneously.

Education Required:

Bachelor's degree in IT, Healthcare Informatics, Business, or a related field.
