Software Engineer

Kratos Space in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a team-oriented Senior Software Engineerto join our team in a dynamic, agile environment. The engineer will contribute across the full software development lifecycleiincluding design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support. The ideal candidate can work independently as well as collaboratively within cross?functional teams. This role focuses on developing high?quality software using Python, Java, and Angular; building and integrating data?driven systems; and contributing to containerized deployments using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Additional responsibilities include participating in system integration activities, maintaining automated test coverage in CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting in simulated environments, and providing clear, consistent technical updates.

• 7i10 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, and Angular
• Experience developing software on both Linux and Windows platforms
• Experience with multi-threaded, networked, or clientiserver applications
• Scripting experience: Windows batch, PowerShell/WSF, Unix shell scripting, Python scripting
• Basic understanding of relational database concepts and SQL
• Ability to design solutions for complex engineering problems
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and collaborate effectively in teams

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Experience with data pipeline development (ETL, orchestration, or data processing workflows)
• Experience with satellite communications or satellite ground systems
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Bitbucket, GitLab, Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence
• Experience with functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps principles
• Active security clearance
• Certifications such as RHCA, CKA, or CKAD

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $130,000-$145,000
