POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position reports to the Supervisor of Thermal Methods Group at the Bonlanden (Germany) facility and interacts with the CAE engineers and applications and product development engineers at Modine facilities globally. This person will be charged with the responsibility of meshing and performing CFD analysis of heat transfer components and working on performance models in support of Modine's global product development and applications initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform CFD meshing and analysis of heat transfer components
  • Interfaces with global (India, Europe) counterparts to insure software usage and practices are consistent globally.
  • Draw conclusion from CFD analysis and from evaluation of performance test results, summarizes these conclusions in various formal reports, and presents conclusions to various audiences.
  • Maintains and improves EES based performance models.
  • Interacts with Applications Engineers, Design Engineers, and Customers to insure various products are performing at a satisfactory level in field applications.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering plus a minimum of 2 years professional work experience in CFD (fluid, heat transfer, and thermodynamics) preferred or Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 5 years professional work experience.
  • Working knowledge of CCM+ for simulation as well as for meshing purposes is required.
  • Working knowledge of EES for coding on EES based performance models is required.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, including English, are essential.
  • Experience with Western international operations and/or supporting global customers is preferred.
