KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Cloud Architect & Engineer to join our Global Advisory Group which is part of KPMG International.

Responsibilities:
  • Shape Global Advisory's technology strategy by establishing the architectural vision and engineering direction across assigned platforms, solution domains, and strategic initiatives
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable solution architectures, technical roadmaps, and integration patterns, providing end-to-end architectural oversight and steering engineering teams through critical design, performance, and integration challenges
  • Sponsor proofs of concept to validate high-impact design decisions, defining reusable enterprise standards for automation, containers, APIs, observability, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure prototypes scale into governed, production-ready capabilities
  • Identify and navigate architectural risks and technical debt, challenging non-compliant solutions and advising executive leadership on architectural trade-offs, investment priorities, and production readiness
  • Partner with the GitHub Platform Owner to deliver architecture and engineering leadership across GitHub Enterprise, including reusable CI/CD workflows, secure delivery pipelines, GitHub Advanced Security, and GitHub Copilot capabilities
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications:
  • Minimum ten years of recent experience setting cloud architecture and engineering direction for complex enterprise technology environments, with accountability for architecture quality, technical risk, modernization outcomes, and successful production adoption
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated experience designing and directing scalable, secure, resilient, and production-ready solutions using Microsoft Azure and related cloud, data, integration, container, automation, and Microsoft 365 technologies
  • Proven ability to translate business priorities and complex technical requirements into practical architecture decisions, implementation approaches, investment recommendations, and sustainable engineering capabilities
  • Experience directing application and platform modernization, including cloud migration, Infrastructure as Code, container platforms, APIs, automation, CI/CD, observability, operational resilience, and the transition from proofs of concept into production services
  • Working knowledge of enterprise GitHub architecture and engineering, including GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, repository and integration patterns, GitHub Advanced Security, secure software delivery, and GitHub Copilot; deep GitHub expertise is valuable, but GitHub platform ownership is not the primary purpose of this role
