What to Expect
Tesla Energy is looking for a highly skilled Electronic Technician to build, rework and maintain
wire harnesses to support the development of our energy products and test setups. Projects are
open ended and often with limited up-front guidance. The successful candidate for this position
must have a background in electrical systems, particularly related to low voltage wiring, preferably with IPC620 certificaton. We expect candidates for this role who possess a wealth of experience, enabling them to independently construct electrical harnesses according to provided drawings.

What You'll Do
  • Interpret harness drawings and execute precision cuts, strips, and crimps to assemble high-density prototype harnesses to engineering specifications
  • Maintain the prototype harness lab, including stocking and tracking tools and materials required for builds
  • Support bench-top electrical system builds and testing, including obtaining and tracking low-voltage components from Tesla teams and third-party vendors
  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely feedback to engineers on issues found during testing and trial builds
  • Support engineering with additional technician work across prototype builds, rework, and test activities as program needs require

What You'll Bring
  • Experience with low-voltage wire harnesses, including connectors, contact terminals, ground terminals, cables, clips, and taping
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and harness drawings, and to build harnesses from scratch
  • Proficiency with multimeters, soldering irons, wire-crimping tools, and hand tools for connector pin extraction
  • 2-year technical or automotive degree, or 3+ years of lab experience, preferred
  • Working knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used to maintain and repair energy products
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with solid computer proficiency
Expected Compensation
$25.88 - $38.46/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
